Charcot Neuro-osteoarthropathy (CN) is a condition often occurring within the foot and ankle causing progressive sometimes rapid destruction of various joints and resulting in deformity, and potential ulceration, infection and lower limb amputation. The effects of CN and its management on a person’s quality of life can be disastrous.

The factors that impact the evidence-based care delivery to people with CN.
This webinar helped the audience to understand what they can do to assist a person with CN access timely and effective assessment, diagnosis and management.

Andrew is the Chair of the AHANA Board and AHA Global CPD collective Coordinator for the Academy. He has worked as an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) for Canberra Health Services since 2015. Since 2020 he has also been the Profession Lead for the AHA workforce across ACT Health; a role which entails assisting with the governance, and initial and ongoing credentialling, of the AHA workforce. Prior to working for Canberra Health Services, Andrew worked as an AHA in a residential aged care facility.

Dimitri has been working as a Podiatrist for 24 years and developed the only existing High Risk Foot Clinic in the Grampians region of Victoria. During this time, he has completed additional qualifications in Diabetes Education, Wound Care, prescription of scheduled medicines and research. He is currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Public Health with the aim of establishing an evidenced based pathway for the assessment diagnosis and management of people with Charcot Neuroarthropathy in the Grampians region of Victoria. He is committed to reducing preventable lower limb amputation.
Dimitri is similarly committed to the advancement and building of the AHA workforce and the understanding by Allied Health Professionals the scope of practice of AHAs to improve therapy outcomes for the community.
